Former WWE head writer Vince Russo weighs in on CM Punk’s recent remarks about AEW President Tony Khan.
In a recent interview on the MMA Hour, CM Punk expressed his views on Tony Khan, suggesting that being a nice guy wasn’t sufficient for leading a wrestling company like AEW.
Punk criticized AEW’s business model, implying it was detrimental to the company.
On the latest episode of Legion of RAW, Vince Russo echoed Punk’s sentiments, stating that many already knew Khan wasn’t efficiently managing AEW.
Russo emphasized that Khan’s primary focus wasn’t on profitability, as he already had other sources of income.
He concurred with Punk’s assessment, highlighting that Khan’s billionaire status meant AEW’s financial success wasn’t a necessity.
“Did we not know all that? I mean it’s great that Punk confirmed it but everybody knew that. That’s why it’s so hard to critique AEW bro. They’re not in it to make money. That’s how we’re all looking at it, we’re looking at it that way. Tony Khan is a billionaire. He doesn’t need AEW to make money,”
Russo commented.
CM Punk’s outspoken nature has earned him the moniker “The Voice of the Voiceless.”
Whether his recent comments will prompt a response from Tony Khan remains to be seen.
