WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has shared his vision for his nephew Jacob Fatu’s future in the Stamford-based promotion, and it doesn’t involve joining The Bloodline just yet. The 279-pound star has been signed with WWE since WrestleMania 40 weekend, leaving fans eagerly anticipating his main roster debut.
Rikishi recently discussed his preferred booking scenario for Jacob Fatu on the Rikishi Fatu Off The Top podcast, shedding light on why he thinks his nephew should go solo instead of immediately joining The Bloodline. “I think Jacob Fatu should establish himself as a singles competitor before getting involved with The Bloodline,” Rikishi explained.
With Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa recently joining the Solo Sikoa-led faction, speculation has been rampant about when Jacob Fatu will arrive on the main roster and whose side he will be on. However, Rikishi believes that his nephew needs to carve out his own path before aligning with any particular group.
Interestingly, former WWE personality Jim Cornette even entertained the idea of stepping out of retirement to manage Jacob Fatu. However, Rikishi rejected the idea, stating that he would be a better fit as his nephew’s manager due to their family connection.
Recent rumors have suggested that some people within WWE are hesitant to push Jacob Fatu due to concerns that he might outshine Solo Sikoa. This could be a reason why the company is delaying his debut. Rikishi, however, remains confident in his nephew’s abilities, saying, “Jacob Fatu has repeatedly shown that he can cut promos for himself.”
When asked about his ultimate vision for Jacob Fatu’s career, Rikishi mentioned that he would eventually like to see his nephew involved with The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Solo Sikoa when the time is right.
For now, WWE fans will have to continue waiting patiently for Jacob Fatu’s main roster debut. One thing is certain, though – Rikishi has a clear vision for his nephew’s future, and it’s centered around establishing himself as a top singles competitor.
