Today marks Star Wars Day, and to celebrate, Disney+ is launching a thrilling new animated anthology series called “Star Wars: Tales of the Empire.” Like its predecessor, “Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi,” this collection of short stories offers unique perspectives from characters entangled in the grip of the dark Imperial forces.
New Characters and Intriguing Backstories
“Star Wars: Tales of the Empire” is about the lives of two characters caught up in the Galactic Empire’s grasp: Morgan Elsbeth and Barriss Offee. Morgan seeks vengeance after losing everything and discovering the expanding Imperial world, while Barriss, a former Jedi, strives to survive in a changing galaxy after rejecting her Jedi training.
Exclusive Sneak Peek Clips
The first, titled “Opportunity,” follows Barriss Offee as she seizes a chance to escape imprisonment. In the second clip, “Stay Back,” gives us a thrilling battle scene as General Grievous confronts a dangerous coven of Nightsisters with his formidable lightsabers.
Stunning Animation and Stellar Voice Cast
The series showcases updated animation reminiscent of “Clone Wars,” featuring a polished and serious tone. The voice cast includes Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, Meredith Salenger as Barriss Offee, and other talented actors like Lars Mikkelsen, Jason Isaacs, and Matthew Wood.
