Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the WAX blockchain have partnered to simplify the integration of Web3 functionalities for developers.
In this collaboration, the Amazon Managed Blockchain service will incorporate support for WAX’s suite of Web3 tools. WAX, previously known as the Worldwide Asset Exchange, operates as a blockchain ecosystem catering to gaming and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB) offers developers a fully managed service to construct resilient, decentralized applications (dApps) on public and private blockchains. It grants instant and serverless access to multiple decentralized networks without the complexities of deploying specialized infrastructures.
Previously, integrating Web3 functionality required developers to manually deploy their nodes, a cumbersome and time-consuming process, or to rely on existing node providers, relinquishing control over their infrastructures.
With this integration into AMB, WAX allows developers to deploy nodes effortlessly through the AWS console, streamlining the process significantly. Developers can then utilize their WAX nodes to experiment and build on the WAX blockchain and interact with both the mainnet and testnets seamlessly.
To further facilitate onboarding, WAX offers studios and companies a comprehensive suite of tools and solutions aimed at simplifying the Web3 development process. These include the Cloud Wallet, single-sign-on (SSO) and OAUTH, native random number generation service, developer portal, cross-chain bridge, and blockchain explorer.
Lukas Sliwka, CTO at WAX, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating that it marks a crucial step towards the mass adoption of Web3. He highlighted the ease of setting up Web3 infrastructure and the provision of additional tools and documentation to streamline the onboarding process.
This integration not only benefits blockchain-native developers but also enables traditional Web2 builders to incorporate decentralized elements into their projects, such as Web3 games, digital asset marketplaces, NFTs, or other dApps.
Dimitri Nikolaros of BountyBlok praised the collaboration, underscoring the potential of combining blockchain with traditional Web2 frameworks to propel the growth of next-gen applications.
Furthermore, WAX’s partnership with AWS extends its relationship with Amazon, as demonstrated by Brawlers, a WAX-based trading card game, becoming part of the Amazon Prime Gaming service. This collaboration offers Prime Gaming subscribers access to free WAX accounts and exclusive in-game items in Brawlers, alongside traditional Web2 games.
