For the past few years, Activision’s studios have released the annual Call of Duty campaign approximately one week before the full game’s launch.
This strategy was intended to encourage players to complete the campaign before diving into the multiplayer mode, which has traditionally been a challenge for Call of Duty fans.
However, Activision representatives have confirmed that Black Ops 6 will not include an early access period for its campaign this time.
Previous titles like Modern Warfare 2 (2022) and Modern Warfare 3 (2023) offered early access to their campaigns as a pre-order incentive.
This approach allowed players to experience the campaign before transitioning to the multiplayer modes, avoiding the fear of missing out. This year, there will be no such early access.
In a statement provided to Charlie Intel, Activision explained:
The team is fully focused on October 25th. We are excited about all the game has to offer across Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies.
This year, we made the decision to allow the community to access all modes simultaneously, so we are returning to a single global launch moment on October 25th.
Consequently, there will be no Early Access period for Black Ops 6; only the countdown to launch remains.
Thus, players will not be able to access any part of Black Ops 6 before October 25.
It will be a rush to complete the campaign before engaging in multiplayer modes, and for many, multiplayer will take precedence, leaving the campaign potentially unexplored.
