WWE superstar Kofi Kingston, a member of The New Day, recently stirred up anticipation for WrestleMania 40 with a bold proclamation on social media.
Teaming up with Xavier Woods, Kingston secured a pivotal win against Otis and Tozawa from the Alpha Academy.
This victory solidified their place in the WrestleMania XL lineup, where they’ll vie for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship in a six-pack ladder match against The Judgment Day.
On Instagram, Kingston shared a comical video depicting his virtual triumph over Roman Reigns in WWE 2K24, accompanied by a daring declaration:
“Y’all ain’t know bout Kofdy Rhodeston? In about 2 weeks, We #FinishTheStory. #AfricanNightmare #WrestleMania”.
Despite Big E’s absence due to injury, Kingston and Woods have remained steadfast in their New Day allegiance, rejecting the idea of recruiting a temporary third member.
In an interview with WhatCulture Wrestling, Big E expressed his admiration for their loyalty, acknowledging their refusal to compromise the group’s unity.
“I’m not around and I told those guys too, as long as I’m out, please don’t feel like you’re beholden to me. My voice comes on at the beginning of the song every time, and I’m not around, and I don’t know if that’s fair to those guys, and hey, if you need a fill-in with a third, feel free to, but they’re always, so adamant about like, ‘Nah, nah, nah. This is the group’ and I appreciate them dearly for that…”,
he remarked.
At WrestleMania XL, Kingston and Woods will join forces with five other teams, including reigning champions Damian Priest and Finn Balor of The Judgment Day.
The six teams will engage in a high-stakes six-pack ladder match, vying for the prestigious Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship belts at The Showcase of the Immortals.
