Road Dogg, WWE’s Senior Vice President of Live Events, has put forth an intriguing idea involving two of WWE’s top stars, Randy Orton and Rhea Ripley, suggesting they’d mesh well in a dream faction alongside a few other talents.
Orton, who made a triumphant return to WWE in November 2023 following a significant back injury, has been reclaiming his spot in the spotlight.
On the other hand, Ripley has been a force to be reckoned with, recently triumphing over Nia Jax in the main event of Elimination Chamber 2024 in her home country of Australia.
In a recent episode of his podcast, “Oh You Didn’t Know,” Road Dogg shared his vision for a five-person stable comprising current WWE stars, with Orton and Ripley as key members:
“I want Randy [Orton]. I want [Austin] Theory, I want Grayson Waller because I think they [Theory and Waller] will be great behind Randy (…) Maybe AJ Styles, a little outcast of the group, like the little devil that does all the dirty work as a heater. He’s a smaller heater. And Rhea Ripley (…) I may trade Finn Balor for Grayson Waller just so that AJ and Finn Balor could be a tag team.” [1:07:55 – 1:08:54]
Drawing from his own experience as part of D-Generation X in the late ’90s, Road Dogg sees potential in assembling a formidable group akin to the legendary faction.
Looking ahead to WrestleMania XL, Ripley is slated to defend her Women’s World Championship against Becky Lynch, with their clash likely to be a headline bout on the event’s first night.
Meanwhile, Orton is gearing up for his WrestleMania showdown, rumored to be against Logan Paul, after Paul interfered in the Men’s Elimination Chamber match, thwarting Orton’s title aspirations.
With the talent and momentum of Orton and Ripley, coupled with Road Dogg’s creative vision, the prospect of them leading a dynamic faction adds an exciting layer to WWE’s evolving landscape.
