The WWE terrain has seen its share of injuries lately, and one such case involves Erik, half of the former Raw Tag Team Champions, The Viking Raiders.
Erik has been sidelined for over seven months due to a neck injury, which required a C6/C7 neck fusion surgery. His absence from WWE TV dates back to September 4, 2023, during a tag team match on Monday Night Raw.
In a recent discussion with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Ivar provided an update on Erik’s condition, revealing that Erik was present at WrestleMania XL but hasn’t been seen since his injury.
According to Ivar, Erik’s injury was severe, causing temporary paralysis at one point and raising doubts about his future in-ring career. Ivar emphasized that Erik would be more cautious in the ring, avoiding moves that could endanger his health.
Meanwhile, Ivar made a surprise appearance on NXT, challenging NXT North American Champion Oba Femi after his match against Josh Briggs.
Ivar expressed readiness to face Oba Femi, highlighting his extensive experience compared to the champion’s relatively short tenure. With Erik sidelined, Ivar aims to secure a singles championship, showcasing his prowess in singles competition.
As Erik continues his recovery journey, Ivar remains determined to make an impact in both singles and tag team competition, setting his sights on championship gold in WWE.
