In a recent revelation, Dutch Mantell, a veteran in the wrestling industry, shed light on how The Rock’s involvement has positively influenced WWE’s product.
Mantell, also known as The Final Boss, has emerged as a significant figure in WWE programming in recent months. His appointment to the TKO Board of Directors marked a significant milestone, signaling his increased role within the company.
With appearances on RAW and SmackDown becoming regular occurrences, Mantell is set to join forces with Roman Reigns in a high-stakes match against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania.
During a segment on Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the seasoned wrestler expressed his surprise at the rapid improvement in WWE’s programming following The Rock’s association with the TKO Board.
Mantell attributed this enhancement to The Rock’s approach to wrestling, which he described as grounded in realism. In contrast, Mantell highlighted Vince McMahon’s historical tendency to expose the business for financial reasons, particularly regarding tax obligations.
“I don’t think anybody expected WWE to be this good this early. They probably never thought it would be this good ever again. But with The Rock there, he brings the right mindset to the wrestling game. With Vince, it was one story. He was the one that first smartened people up with the State Athletic Commissions and he didn’t want to pay taxes. I don’t blame him there but he said, no it’s all pre-planned, it’s all set up, it’s an exhibition and we’re paying them taxes on something that we’re not. That saved him a lot of money. But now people have it set in their heads that it’s a pre-planned production.”
Mantell’s insights underscore the significance of The Rock’s influence on WWE’s creative direction, prompting anticipation for future developments.
Meanwhile, The Rock’s recent surprise appearance on RAW created significant buzz among fans. His unexpected assault on Cody Rhodes in the parking lot left viewers in awe, setting the stage for further intrigue.
