Veteran wrestler Konnan speculates on a possible shift in the WWE Universe’s perception of Cody Rhodes in the future.
As one of WWE’s prominent faces, Rhodes has garnered immense support from fans. He’s spearheading the charge against the formidable Bloodline and eyes a monumental showdown against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania XL.
During a recent episode of Keepin’ It 100, Konnan voiced his apprehensions regarding Rhodes’ long-term fan support.
Despite current backing, Konnan expressed concern over a potential fan backlash down the line. He pointed to cryptic hints dropped during a recent RAW episode, particularly when The Rock whispered something to Cody.
“A great visual which shows the hold that he has with the crowd when everybody is pointing to the WrestleMania sign with Cody. I can just see these same people turning on him in a year or two. I just hope that this isn’t like the devil storyline in AEW, where at the end you’re like, ‘Really, this is who it is?’ Whatever he whispered into his ears, not whack, because to me, it’s become one of the strongest components of the story,”
he said.
In a shocking turn of events on RAW, The Rock unleashed a brutal assault on Cody Rhodes, leaving fans stunned.
The Final Boss unleashed a vicious onslaught, inflicting damage on The American Nightmare with foreign objects and slamming his head against a trailer in the parking lot.
Amidst the chaos, The Rock addressed Cody’s mother, alluding to a prophecy coming to fruition and hinting at a bloodied championship belt presentation at WrestleMania.
As the aftermath of The Rock’s attack unfolds, Cody Rhodes’ response remains a topic of intrigue. Fans eagerly anticipate whether the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble winner will retaliate in the forthcoming episode of WWE’s flagship show.
