The curtains have closed on AEW Dynasty, leaving fans enthralled by the electrifying events that unfolded in St. Louis. From Swerve Strickland’s historic coronation as the new AEW World Champion to Jack Perry’s jaw-dropping return to the ring, and Will Ospreay’s triumphant victory over Bryan Danielson, the show delivered an unforgettable spectacle.
Remarkably, AEW managed to attract audiences despite grappling with a considerable injury roster, with former AEW World Champion MJF among the top names sidelined.
In the post-show media scrum, Tony Khan expressed eagerness for MJF’s imminent return, highlighting his stature as one of AEW’s premier talents. Khan emphasized MJF’s significance to the roster, affirming,
“MJF is one of the biggest stars in AEW. I haven’t seen him in recent months and I would love to get MJF back here soon, sooner than later, like really soon.
We’ve got so many great things happening and I think that would be really additive. He’s one of our great wrestlers and we’ve had great things happening in AEW lately.”
Additionally, Kenny Omega’s absence due to diverticulitis hasn’t dampened Khan’s hopes of a potential hometown appearance in Winnipeg later this year.
Despite Omega’s health concerns, Khan remains optimistic about the prospect, stating,
“Going back to Winnipeg, it would be great, even if he can’t return, to see Kenny Omega. I think that would be pretty awesome for the fans up there, so that’s still something I am optimistic [about]. Hopefully, we can do that.”
Furthermore, Khan eagerly anticipates the return of Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D., underscoring her pivotal role as both a world champion and a representative of AEW.
Expressing anticipation for her swift comeback, Khan remarked,
“The sooner she’s back, the better. She’s a great world champion for us and a great representative of AEW. We’ve missed her and that would be tremendous.”
