Tony Khan is placing significant emphasis on securing a lucrative media rights deal as AEW enters its fifth year, expressing confidence that negotiations in the United States will yield fruitful results.
During a media call preceding Sunday’s AEW Dynasty pay-per-view, Khan addressed inquiries about potential plans to transition AEW television to a streaming platform or offer bundled packages for U.S. consumers.
He indicated that discussions during rights negotiations would include exploring streaming options to make AEW’s comprehensive library accessible to fans.
“With hundreds of episodes of ‘Dynamite,’ ‘Rampage,’ and the nearing one-year anniversary of ‘Collision,’ we’ve delivered numerous exceptional pay-per-view events.
I believe AEW has produced a significant portion of the best pay-per-view events in wrestling over the past five years,” Khan remarked.
“However, the complete library has never been consolidated in one location. Providing an archived library and streaming events is an intriguing concept.
Wrestling fans have access to various events via streaming platforms, and AEW events should be among them. I anticipate this to materialize in our forthcoming media rights deal.”
Khan noted that the company is currently engaged in exclusive discussions with Warner Bros/Discovery, the current broadcaster of AEW programming, which he described as “amazing.”
He expressed appreciation for their collaboration and emphasized the importance of respecting AEW’s media partner throughout negotiations.
While specific airing arrangements for all AEW shows in 2025 remain uncertain, Khan underscored the company’s excitement during this transitional phase.
