The world of professional wrestling has undergone significant changes over the years, and one of the most notable shifts has been in the schedules of wrestlers. Gone are the days when wrestlers would be on the road for 300 days a year. Today, many talents don’t even wrestle half as much in a year as their predecessors did. In fact, there are several main roster stars who have failed to break past five televised matches so far this year.
In this article, we take a closer look at five performers who have struggled to make an impact on television. The list only includes matches that have been broadcast on television and does not include premium live event matches or those that have taken place on streaming-based programs like Main Event and NXT Level Up.
Jimmy Uso, one half of the accomplished tag team The Usos, has had a surprisingly quiet year. Despite being part of one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history, Uso has only had one televised match in 2024, a three-on-two handicap match that he lost.
Andrade, a former NXT Champion and United States Champion, has had a slightly more active year, but still only managed to rack up five televised matches. The Mexican star has been undefeated on broadcasted shows since his return to the company in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
Cedric Alexander, widely considered one of the most underutilized male performers in WWE, has had a paltry three broadcasted matches in 2024. The talented wrestler has lost all three of his televised matches, and it’s unclear when he’ll get his next opportunity to shine.
Omos, the tallest man in WWE, has been conspicuous by his absence in 2024. With only two broadcasted matches, one of which was on television, the Nigerian Giant has struggled to make an impact. His lack of activity has been a disappointment to fans who were excited to see more of him.
Finally, there’s Apollo Crews, a 36-year-old wrestler with all the tools to succeed. Despite having nine televised matches in 2024, only two of those have been on RAW or SmackDown. The rest have been relegated to Main Event or Speed, leaving fans wondering why he hasn’t been given more opportunities on the main stage.
These five wrestlers are a reminder that even in professional wrestling, opportunities can be scarce, and sometimes even the most talented performers can get lost in the shuffle. As the year wears on, fans can only hope that these forgotten faces will be given a chance to shine.
