The Road to WrestleMania has been anything but smooth for several top WWE Superstars, including Sami Zayn. The former Intercontinental Champion recently shared insights into his varied journey leading up to The Show of Shows.
Last year, Zayn and Kevin Owens captured the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship from The Usos in a thrilling main event on the first night of WrestleMania.
This year, Zayn has been navigating his path to securing a spot on the WrestleMania card.
Despite facing setbacks with losses, Zayn has recently regained momentum with victories over formidable opponents like Shinsuke Nakamura and Ivar.
Reflecting on his recent mixed bookings, Zayn emphasized the significance of wins and losses in shaping a WWE Superstar’s character and trajectory.
“Wins and losses, they don’t define you, but sometimes when the stakes are high, it says a lot about you,”
Zayn remarked during WWE’s The Bump.
He further highlighted the importance of seizing opportunities and proving oneself when faced with adversity. Zayn’s resilience and determination have propelled him forward, positioning him as a legitimate contender in the WWE landscape.
Looking ahead, Zayn is set to compete in a Gauntlet Match on Monday Night RAW to determine the challenger for Gunther’s title at WrestleMania 40.
While many anticipate Zayn’s triumph in the match, wrestling analyst Bully Ray suggests that Chad Gable might offer a more compelling challenge to The Ring General.
“Zayn and Gunther would undoubtedly deliver a quality Intercontinental Championship match,”
Ray commented on Busted Open Radio.
“However, the prospect of a rematch between Gable and Gunther holds significant appeal, given their history and Gable’s underdog narrative.”
As the WWE Universe eagerly anticipates the upcoming episode of RAW, all eyes will be on the outcome of the Gauntlet Match, which promises to shape the landscape of WrestleMania 40.
