Filmmaker and artist Sam Taylor-Johnson opened up about the public’s obsession with her and her husband Aaron’s age gap.
Speaking on the BBC’s “This Cultural Life” podcast, Taylor-Johnson, 57, mentioned that people were initially curious about their relationship, which began when they met on the set of “Nowhere Boy” in 2009. At that time, Aaron was 19, and Sam was 42.

She explained that while the interest was intense in the beginning, it has since died down. However, it resurfaces occasionally, especially during press events. Sam reflected on how people tend to scrutinize relationships that don’t fit societal norms, wanting to dissect and understand them.
The couple tied the knot in 2012 and are proud parents to two daughters, Wylda Rae and Romy Hero. Before Aaron, Sam was married to art dealer Jay Jopling, with whom she shares two children.
Aaron, known for his roles in movies like “Kick-Ass” and “Nocturnal Animals,” is rumored to be in contention for the role of James Bond. When asked about the possibility of being the next Mrs. Bond, Sam responded with enthusiasm, acknowledging the ongoing speculation until anything is confirmed.
