Flair, a 16-time world champion and two-time WWE Hall of Famer, took to social media to thank WWE for their kindness, despite being actively involved with a rival promotion.
The Nature Boy’s message of appreciation comes on the heels of a revelation by AEW executive producer Mike Mansury, who shared that WWE had prepared three versions of RAW episodes in the event of Flair’s passing, following a series of health issues he faced. This gesture of respect and admiration from WWE did not go unnoticed by Flair, who was visibly moved by their consideration.
Flair’s post on X (formerly Twitter) read, “WWE, I want to thank you for the respect you’ve shown me over the years. From my Hall of Fame induction in 2008 to the kindness you’ve shown me during my health issues, I’m forever grateful.” This heartfelt message is a testament to the admiration and respect Flair has for the WWE, a promotion that played a significant role in establishing him as a household name.
It is worth noting that Flair made his AEW debut last year, assisting his long-time friend Sting in the final stages of his illustrious career. Since then, he has signed a multi-year deal with the Jacksonville-based company and has made sporadic appearances on AEW television. In a recent social media post, Flair thanked AEW President Tony Khan for giving him the opportunity to be part of the promotion.
