Pocketpair is allocating approximately half a million dollars per month, equivalent to around £378,000, to maintain the operational status of the servers for its sleeper-hit game, Palworld.
CEO Takuro Mizobe shared a snapshot of the evolving server costs since the game’s recent launch in a tweet, playfully expressing concern – perhaps in jest – about the possibility of the studio facing financial challenges due to server fees.
Despite the substantial monthly expenditure, it appears that the cost is not a hindrance. Palworld’s network engineer, Chujo Hiroto, responded to Mizobe’s tweet, disclosing that they have received a directive to ensure uninterrupted service at all costs.
Following the order to never let the service go down no matter what, we have prepared servers without regard to cost.
We will continue to give our all to ensure that all players can enjoy to the fullest!

Hiroto emphasized their commitment to providing an optimal gaming experience for all players, stating, “Following the order to never let the service go down no matter what, we have prepared servers without regard to cost. We will continue to give our all to ensure that all players can enjoy to the fullest! $478,000…”
In less than two weeks after its early access launch, Palworld has achieved an impressive milestone, surpassing 19 million players on Xbox Series X/S and PC. Microsoft is now highlighting it as the largest third-party launch in Game Pass history.
As previously reported, Pocketpair recognized Palworld’s success early on, despite encountering initial server issues during its early access launch on January 19. Within 24 hours, the game attracted 2 million players exploring the Palapagos Islands
Subsequently, Palworld became one of only six games to reach 1 million concurrent players on Steam. Updated sales figures revealed it had sold over 5 million copies in just three days, with Steam sales reaching 8 million six days after launch.
