I recently delved into the world of Palworld with some friends, and one of the initial observations that caught my attention was the swift and effortless manner in which one can become encumbered.
Encumbrance, in this context, refers to the hindrance caused by the weight of the resources one is carrying. To my chagrin, I soon discovered that there was a critical threshold where the burden became so overwhelming that any further movement came to a complete halt.
While it makes perfect sense as a consequence of recklessly accumulating my entire base within my inventory, the experience has proven to be quite a challenge. Our group had outgrown the hastily constructed base from our early, inexperienced days. However, the prospect of relocation meant either transporting our belongings in multiple batches or resorting to the somewhat unorthodox grappling hook technique.
Fortunately, a more convenient solution has emerged. Now, you can simply defy the weight limit, slowly but steadily waddling to your new base location in a single trip while carrying everything at once.
It’s akin to the situation at a grocery store when you initially think you won’t need a cart, only to find yourself juggling bananas and apples with a carton of milk on your head and a loaf of bread wedged between your legs. Meanwhile, the cashier watches, silently contemplating whether this seemingly precarious scenario will culminate in a messy disaster at the register. Just me?
Buried in the unassuming patch notes of Palworld update 0.1.4.0 is a noteworthy line: “Specifications have been changed so that you can move at an extremely low speed even when you have exceeded the weight limit.”
Admittedly, the term “extremely low speed” has me a bit apprehensive, but anything is an improvement over a complete standstill.
