Kevin Owens, known for his headline appearances at WWE WrestleMania in 2022 and 2023, may not find himself in the main event spotlight this year.
However, his ongoing rivalry with United States Champion Logan Paul promises to be a significant storyline leading up to the event.
Their feud has been brewing for over a month, culminating in a match at Royal Rumble where Owens narrowly missed out on victory due to a disqualification.
At the recent Elimination Chamber: Perth event, both Owens and Paul found themselves eliminated by Randy Orton, sparking speculation of their involvement in the United States Championship scene at WrestleMania.
Despite the potential for a high-profile showdown, Owens expressed his frustration with the ongoing feud during an interview with The West Sport before the Chamber event:
“[Logan Paul is] extremely aggravating and stressful and annoying and just, I can’t wait for it to be over and I just want to get away from him for as long as I can. He’s an unbearable human being,” Owens candidly remarked. “Any chance I get to beat the hell out of him, I’m happy. So if that’s what I get to do… If the price to pay is being around him, but the reward is getting to beat the hell out of him, then I can tolerate it. But, I’m going to hopefully take his title and move on.”
Meanwhile, reflecting on a past encounter, Intercontinental Champion Gunther shared positive sentiments about working with Owens on WWE RAW in 2023.
He praised Owens for his intensity and physicality in the ring, highlighting the dynamic contrast between their characters:
“The energy he brings to the ring is a very good match for the energy I bring to the ring. It’s a very good contrast. If you visually look at us, I think people can really relate with somebody standing up to a bully, and not taking anything from him,”
Gunther remarked.
Gunther emphasized his enjoyment of their collaboration, emphasizing Owens’ authenticity and the compelling story their match told.
