Chris Jericho and HOOK’s storyline has been a focal point on AEW television, evolving from alliance to confrontation over recent weeks.
The climax of their feud unfolded at AEW’s latest pay-per-view event, Dynasty, where Jericho secured HOOK’s FTW Championship. Prior to this showdown, tensions peaked on the final “AEW Dynamite” episode leading to the event.
In a pivotal moment, Jericho and HOOK confronted each other in the ring, with HOOK’s father, AEW commentator Taz, attempting to mediate.
However, frustration boiled over, leading Jericho to shove Taz down, sparking a heated altercation between Jericho and HOOK, setting the stage for their pay-per-view clash.
On his “Kliq This” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash weighed in on the feud, expressing his dissatisfaction with the go-home segment leading to Dynasty.
Nash, who admittedly doesn’t closely follow AEW, found the angle perplexing. “What that did last night was kind of pretty much explained to me why I don’t. I just didn’t get it,” Nash remarked.
He questioned Jericho’s role in the storyline, particularly his willingness to engage in such a confrontation. Nash speculated on Jericho’s strategic approach, suggesting that Jericho likely has control over his own storyline within the company.
Nash emphasized his trust in Jericho’s storytelling capabilities, acknowledging him as one of the few individuals on the roster capable of steering the narrative effectively.
However, Nash remained skeptical about the marketability of HOOK, expressing doubt that he would be a significant draw for the promotion.
