Jinder Mahal, known as the Modern Day Maharaja during his time with WWE, has parted ways with the company after an eight-year stint. One of the standout moments of his second tenure was his WWE Championship victory over Randy Orton at Backlash 2017.
The former WWE Superstar, whose real name is Yuvraj Dhesi, has recently applied for trademarks to secure the moniker “Raj Dhesi” along with “The Maharaja,” his well-known nickname in the wrestling world. Here’s a snippet from the trademark filings:
“Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes.”
Twitter Drama and WWE Departure
Alongside Jinder Mahal, several other names were also released by WWE, including female star Xia Li. Many WWE Superstars, including Chelsea Green, shared heartfelt messages for Li.
However, Mahal seemed to express disappointment with Green’s tweet, suggesting he expected a message as well.
I Quit. Maharaja Out 💰.

Mahal had two significant stints with WWE. His initial tenure spanned four years from 2010 to 2014, followed by a two-year period on the independent circuit.
The 37-year-old returned to WWE in 2016 and became a prominent figure on SmackDown in 2017, where he held the WWE Championship before later winning the United States Title at WrestleMania 34.
