Bill Goldberg recently criticized AEW, describing it as “too cheesy.” However, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T believes Goldberg wouldn’t be a natural fit for the promotion. Despite this, Booker sees one significant reason why Goldberg might consider AEW.
In a recent interview, Goldberg expressed his reservations about AEW’s style, citing it as “too cheesy.” His last match was against Roman Reigns at the 2022 Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event, which he lost.
Booker T, speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast, echoed Goldberg’s sentiments, suggesting that AEW wouldn’t provide suitable opportunities for Goldberg besides dominating opponents.
“Goldberg would not fit in AEW, that’s just me. It’s nothing for him to do there but just beat up guys. He’d have to beat up the whole roster. I mean, he’s not getting pinned by anyone that’s not going to happen,” remarked Booker.
However, Booker proposed a scenario where Goldberg could make a one-time appearance in AEW for a monumental match, similar to Lanny Poffo’s approach.
He suggested that Goldberg could select his opponent, as Sid Vicious did in the past when he faced Booker T and his brother.
If Goldberg were to join AEW for his final match, speculation arises about who his opponent might be.
Potential candidates include Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan, Kazuchika Okada, Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley, and Claudio Castagnoli. Each presents an intriguing matchup for Goldberg’s farewell bout.
