According to a recent report from Data.ai, Genshin Impact has achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing $5 billion in consumer spending in record time for a mobile game.
The MiHoYo RPG accomplished this feat just 40 months after its initial launch in September 2020. In comparison, Clash of Clans took 51 months to reach the same $5 billion consumer spending mark.
The data analyzed spending within the game through both Apple’s App Store and Google Play, excluding any expenditures from third-party Android marketplaces.
When dissecting Genshin Impact’s consumer spending based on countries, China emerged as the top contributor, constituting approximately 30% of the total revenue with an impressive $1.5 billion.
Following closely was Japan, contributing $1.06 billion, equivalent to 21% of the game’s overall consumer spending. The United States secured the third position in Genshin Impact spending, accounting for $903 million or 18% of the total consumer spending.
Furthermore, Data.ai revealed that only 13 mobile titles have achieved the noteworthy milestone of surpassing $5 billion in revenue through the combined platforms of the App Store and Google Play. Genshin Impact’s rapid ascent to this financial benchmark underscores its unparalleled success in the mobile gaming industry.
