Former WWE head writer Vince Russo expressed his belief that the company missed an opportunity to inform fans about Cody Rhodes’ appearance on this week’s RAW.
Following a brutal attack by The Rock last week, WWE announced that Cody would not be present on the show. However, during the main event, The American Nightmare unexpectedly intervened to assist Seth Rollins and Jey Uso.
Unfortunately, the plan backfired as Roman Reigns and The Final Boss unleashed a merciless assault on the two allies using a weightlifting belt.
On the latest episode of Legion of RAW, Russo criticized the production team for not showcasing Cody Rhodes arriving at the venue.
He argued that by announcing their top babyface’s absence due to medical reasons, WWE inadvertently led some fans to believe he wouldn’t appear, causing them to tune out.
“Another huge mistake, bro. Cody is not here. Cody has not been cleared. My God, bro. Show the guy showing up. Show him showing up to the arena. Because, again, you’re telling me he’s not cleared to wrestle. He’s not here. You’ve got a portion of the audience that’s going to believe that, and they’re not going to be there when he comes out. Have him show up at the top of the second hour bro.” [From 7:18 onwards]
This marks the second consecutive week that Cody has been targeted by members of The Bloodline, raising concerns about his physical condition heading into WrestleMania weekend.
The sustained aggression could potentially hinder his ability to perform at one hundred percent during the highly anticipated event.
As anticipation builds for WrestleMania, fans are eager to witness whether Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins can mount a counterattack at The Show of Shows.
