In its latest international release, Disney/Pixar’s *Inside Out 2* continues to break records and set new benchmarks. On Wednesday, the sequel achieved remarkable success across several key markets, contributing significantly to its global box office standing.
Overseas, the film grossed $29 million, constituting 22% of its weekend total and pushing its international earnings to $203.3 million across 42 markets. Globally, the film has now amassed $438.7 million, with expectations of crossing the half-billion mark soon.
The addition of new markets on Wednesday proved pivotal for *Inside Out 2*. Launching in Italy, France, Spain, and Belgium, the sequel dominated, with each country seeing its debut at number one. Italy led the charge with a stunning $4.2 million opening day, setting a new record for the biggest animated title launch of all time in the country.
This achievement also marked the seventh-highest opening day for any film (non-local) and the largest post-Covid opening day overall. It ranks as the fourth-highest Disney opening day ever, excluding previews, surpassing *Inside Out* by 397%, *The Super Mario Bros Movie* by 136%, and *Minions: The Rise of Gru* by 91%.
In France, *Inside Out 2* secured the third-highest Pixar opening day and the top opening of the year with a $4 million haul, surpassing its predecessor by 171% and *Super Mario* by 31%. Spain also witnessed a record-breaking opening day with $3.3 million, making it the biggest animated title launch ever and the strongest start post-Covid in the country.
Belgium contributed significantly with a $700,000 opening day, marking Pixar’s biggest launch day there and the third best for any Disney or Pixar animated film, exceeding *Inside Out* by 133% and *Rise of Gru* by 34%.
Looking ahead, *Inside Out 2* anticipates further growth as it prepares for upcoming releases in Brazil and China, scheduled for the coming days. As of Wednesday, the film’s top-performing markets include Mexico, with an impressive $42.2 million, followed by the UK ($18.7 million), Korea ($17.6 million), Germany ($10.8 million), and Argentina ($9.4 million).
