The latest trailer for Marvel Studios’ “Deadpool & Wolverine” has hit the screens, promising an exciting new chapter in the Marvel universe. Director Shawn Levy clarifies that while this is the third Deadpool movie, it’s not quite “Deadpool 3” as fans might expect.
Deadpool and Wolverine New Trailer
Set five years after Deadpool’s time-travel shenanigans, where he cleaned up timelines and erased his past version from “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” Wade Wilson finds himself as a toupeed used car salesman.
However, his life takes a drastic turn when Agent Paradox brings him to the Time Variance Authority, revealing a higher calling: recruiting the weary Wolverine to join forces and save the Sacred Timeline.
The star-studded cast sees the return of familiar faces, including Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Rob Delaney as Peter.
Emma Corrin takes on the role of the villainous Cassandra Nova, Professor Xavier’s malevolent twin sister.
Director Shawn Levy, known for his work with Reynolds in “Free Guy” and Jackman in “Real Steel,” helms the first R-rated MCU installment. True to Deadpool’s irreverent style, the film drops F-bombs, references Disney and Marvel’s Kevin Feige, and includes nods to the X-Men franchise.
Feige, Reynolds, and Levy produce alongside X-Men veteran Lauren Shuler Donner, with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick returning to pen the script alongside Reynolds, Levy, and Zeb Wells.
Levy expresses gratitude for the opportunity to work with two iconic stars in their most beloved roles, emphasizing that “Deadpool & Wolverine” offers a fresh take on the characters, distinct from its predecessors.
It’s not just another Deadpool sequel; it’s a unique adventure centered on the dynamic between Deadpool and Wolverine, promising an exhilarating ride for fans old and new.
