Wrestler and wife of WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Brandi Rhodes, has bravely shared her struggles with stage 4 endometriosis, a severe and debilitating health condition. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Rhodes revealed that she was diagnosed with the condition, which has left her experiencing internal pain, extreme bloating, and other distressing symptoms.
The 41-year-old wrestling personality began experiencing symptoms after getting pregnant with her daughter, Liberty Iris Runnels, in 2021. Despite seeing numerous specialists, Rhodes was left without answers, and the pain persisted. It wasn’t until she saw a post from fellow wrestling veteran Maryse, sharing her own health struggles, that Rhodes found the motivation to continue searching for answers.
Inspired by Maryse’s courage, Rhodes underwent surgery to remove the damage caused by her stage 4 endometriosis. This new development comes after Rhodes and her husband Cody left All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in February 2022, ahead of Cody’s return to WWE.
Rhodes has had a storied career in the wrestling world, having worked with WWE, TNA, ROH, and AEW, as well as various indie promotions. Although she initially started as a ring announcer for WWE, Rhodes went on to become a talented wrestler in her own right, competing in numerous matches and teaming up with her husband on occasion.
Despite her health struggles, Rhodes remains optimistic, citing Maryse as a beacon of hope and inspiration. Her courageous decision to share her story with the world will undoubtedly resonate with many women who have faced similar health battles.
Rhodes’ last match took place on January 26, 2022, at the AEW Elevation tapings, where she defeated KiLynn King. Although her in-ring career may be on hold for the time being, Rhodes’ bravery and resilience in the face of adversity have earned her a new kind of championship – the admiration and respect of the wrestling community and beyond.
