With the success of its first season, the Fallout adaptation is gearing up for even bigger things. Despite already boasting a hefty budget of $153 million, courtesy of Amazon and MGM, the show’s production for the next season is set to relocate to California.
Comparatively, HBO’s The Last of Us (TLOU) kicked off with a reported budget of $10-15 million for its 9-episode first season, as noted by Collider. However, with the success of its debut season, TLOU season 2 is poised to secure an even larger budget, potentially giving it an edge over Fallout’s inaugural season.
The ample budget for Fallout is evident in its visuals, as teased in trailers. From epic nuclear war scenes to the iconic Brotherhood of Steel’s airship, The Caswennan, the show promises breathtaking spectacles. While practical effects and sets dominate, CGI enhancements, including models and backdrops, add another layer of depth to the series.
