Diego Luna, the lead actor of Andor, took to Instagram to confirm the completion of filming for Season 2. In his post on February 9, Luna expressed gratitude to the entire crew for their hard work over the years, marking the final day of production not only for the season but also for the entire series, which was previously announced to conclude after Season 2.
Reflecting on the immense effort put in by more than 700 individuals involved in the production, Luna conveyed his appreciation for the love and the unforgettable experience they shared.
Luna had previously shared with Variety his contentment with the decision to end Andor after two seasons, citing its significance for his mental well-being.
Before the anticipated Hollywood strikes, series creator Tony Gilroy had hinted at a potential August 2024 release for Andor Season 2. However, any changes in the schedule remain uncertain.
Season 2 of Andor is poised to delve deeper into the narrative leading up to the events portrayed in the film Rogue One. Gilroy teased the audience with the promise of bringing them to the iconic moment of the Death Star’s destruction, setting the stage for the events in Rogue One.
Joining Luna in the cast are Syril Karn, Stellan Skarsgard, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denis Gough, and Adria Arjona, contributing to the series’ rich ensemble.
