WWE’s Hall of Famer Triple H, known offstage as Paul Levesque, has been at the helm as Chief Content Officer for nearly two years.
Recently, a respected 41-year-old veteran, Natalya, spoke highly of his leadership, commending The Game for granting her more creative liberty.
Natalya, a former Divas Champion, SmackDown Women’s Champion, and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion, failed to secure a WrestleMania 40 title shot despite her efforts in both the Women’s Royal Rumble match and the Elimination Chamber Qualifying Last Chance Battle Royal on Monday Night RAW.
During a conversation with Joe Vulpis on the Lightweights Podcast, Natalya shared her perspective on working under Triple H’s regime, transitioning from his role as a locker room peer to an authoritative figure. Reflecting on this, she remarked:
“I think that with Triple H, he used to be a wrestler…so he knows what it is like to be a talent and he knows what it’s like to do this, he knows what it is like to go out there and to excel or to make mistakes or to grow or to get. I mean he tore his quad once in the ring and finished the match. So he knows what it’s like to be in the ring with us, like doing what it is that we do. He knows about all the frustration that we might have, but he’s younger so like if I go to him with an idea, he’s able to like process it a little differently and take it into consideration.” [From 39:59 to 40:38]
Former star reflects on WWE’s handling of Triple H vs. Sting at WrestleMania
In the WrestleMania 31 event of 2015, Sting made his highly anticipated WWE in-ring debut against The King of Kings, Triple H. However, the match witnessed interference from D-Generation X and the New World Order, leading to Triple H’s victory over The Icon.
In a discussion on the Busted Open Radio podcast, former WWE Superstar Lex Luger expressed his belief that WWE could have better executed the Triple H vs. Sting bout:
“That definitely could have been done much better, and it would’ve been great for business to do it a different way for sure. I remember Scott Hall had called me afterward. He goes, ‘Man, we were there at ringside.’ He goes, ‘What are we doing here?’”
Fans eagerly anticipate WWE’s second WrestleMania under Triple H’s leadership, given the wealth of talent on the card. What are your thoughts on Natalya’s insights into Triple H’s WWE regime? Share your opinions in the comments section below.
