Paradox Interactive has revealed a further delay for Life By You, its ambitious Sims-like game, with the new early access release date set for June 4th on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Life By You, the debut title from Paradox’s Tectonic studio, led by former Sims and Second Life executive Rod Humble, was officially introduced in March of the previous year. The game promised players the ability to “create humans and live out their lives without loading screens,” essentially resembling the Sims but with distinctive features.
These include a fully open-world design without loading screens, “real language conversation,” optional first-person control of the digital character, and extensive customization options. The game also boasts a more realistic art style compared to the Sims 4.
Initially slated for an early access release on PC in September, Life By You faced a delay to March 5th to refine aspects such as UI, visuals, and overall user experience. However, the game is not yet ready for release, prompting Paradox to announce another postponement, pushing the early access launch to June 4th.
This extra time is intended to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for Tectonic, laying a robust foundation for the game’s expansion during the early access period.
The delay announcement includes a detailed FAQ outlining the various aspects that Tectonic aims to address before Life By You’s early access release.
These include bug fixes, improvements in performance and stability, enhancements in character art, proportions, idles, and facial animations, reduced clothing clipping, smoother animation transitions, building assets and UI adjustments, gameplay refinements, and enhancements in mod tool usability.
As part of this delay, Paradox has suspended all pre-orders for Life By You and is offering refunds to those who request them. Additionally, the two pre-order-exclusive item packs, namely the Life Begins and Nightlife Vibes Packs, will now be accessible to all early-access players upon the game’s eventual release.
