She has returned! The Baroness, a beloved character among GI Joe enthusiasts in the enduring military superhero franchise, has entered the scene in Skybound Entertainment’s latest collaboration, the GI Joe/Transformers Energon Universe publishing line.
For those eagerly anticipating more of the iconic femme fatale, we present a sneak peek into the interior pages of Duke #3, the inaugural installment of four limited series by Skybound aimed at reintroducing the cherished characters and themes of the esteemed action heroes.
Within the pages of Duke #3, crafted by writer Joshua Williamson, artist Tom Reilly, and colorist Jordie Bellaire, Duke finds himself ensnared in a clandestine prison alongside the Baroness. She endeavors to entice him into a partnership for their escape. The burning question remains – will Duke cross that perilous line?
“Codename: G.I. JOE continues! Duke’s quest for answers brings him to a classified facility housing America’s most dangerous prisoners, including the mysterious Baroness,” declares Skybound’s official description of Duke #3. “Now marked as the most sought-after man globally, he faces the unfortunate reality that many prefer him deceased rather than alive.”
In tandem with Duke, Skybound has already unveiled its second GI Joe limited series, Cobra Commander, helmed by Williamson, featuring art by Andrea Milana and colorist Annalisa Leoni. The Energon Universe, an expansive realm that also encompasses Transformers, made an unexpected entrance in Skybound’s lineup with Void Rivals #1.
