As the WWE continues to thrive, criticism from wrestling fans has become a common occurrence. Recently, the promotion faced backlash for relegating LA Knight’s King of The Ring matchup against Santos Escobar to a WWE live event, and for Jey Uso’s victory over Ilja Dragunov in the tournament. While the company has made efforts to showcase its talented roster, there are still several Superstars who deserve a singles run in 2024.
One of the most notable examples is LA Knight, who remains incredibly popular amongst the WWE Universe. Despite his popularity, Knight has never held a title on the main roster and has had limited opportunities to shine. His recent loss to AJ Styles on WWE SmackDown has left fans wondering if the company has faith in “The Megastar.” A singles run in 2024 could be the perfect opportunity for Knight to finally capture gold and prove himself as a top-tier Superstar.
Another Superstar in dire need of a singles run is Bianca Belair. The EST is undoubtedly at her best as a singles star, having main evented WrestleMania in the past. While her current partnership with Jade Cargill has yielded success, it’s only a matter of time before they split and Belair returns to the singles division. A singles run in 2024 could see Belair vie for the WWE Women’s Championship, adding another accolade to her impressive repertoire.
Speaking of Cargill, the 31-year-old is undoubtedly destined for greatness as a singles star. Following a successful stint in All Elite Wrestling, Cargill signed with WWE last year and has already made a mark as one half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions. However, it’s clear that the promotion envisions her as a singles star down the line. A breakout year in 2024 could see Cargill take aim at the WWE Women’s Championship on SmackDown.
Liv Morgan is another Superstar who deserves a singles run in 2024. Despite her impressive return to the ring, Morgan has yet to secure a major victory, finishing second in the Women’s Royal Rumble, Women’s Elimination Chamber match, and the Battle Royal for the vacant Women’s World Championship. A win over Becky Lynch for the Women’s World Championship at King and Queen of The Ring would be the perfect validation for her “revenge tour.” If not, Morgan risks being relegated to the tag team division once again.
Last but not least, Bronson Reed is long overdue for a singles run in 2024. The Australian star has consistently impressed with his athleticism and in-ring prowess, but has never captured a title on the main roster. A win in the upcoming triple threat match for the Intercontinental Championship against Sami Zayn and Chad Gable could be the catalyst for Reed’s long-awaited breakthrough. With his talent and dedication, there’s no reason why Reed can’t become a top contender in the singles division.
