In a shocking move, WWE parted ways with its longtime employee Kevin Dunn at the end of last year, leaving a significant void in the company’s production department. Dunn, who spent nearly 40 years with WWE, held multiple roles, including Executive Producer & Chief of Global Television Distribution.
After his departure, WWE hired Lee Fitting, a media industry veteran, to take over most of Dunn’s responsibilities as the new Head of Media & Production.
However, it has been reported that Fitting will not assume the same role in NXT, the company’s developmental brand. Instead, veteran WWE employee Brian Fadem has been given responsibility for Dunn’s former NXT duties.
Fadem, who joined WWE in 2013 as a Production Assistant, has been promoted several times over the years and was named the new Vice President of Line Producing in January.
Sources close to the company have revealed that Fadem is more open to taking camera shot suggestions from talents and other aspects of production, a stark contrast to Dunn’s restrictive approach to NXT production. This shift in creative approach is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the brand.
As NXT gears up for the fallout from WWE NXT Spring Breakin’ 2024, Fadem will lead the production team in shaping the narrative and presentation of the brand. This week’s episode will also continue the build-up to the Battleground PLE, with a women’s Combine announced for Tuesday’s NXT.
The best performers will advance to a series of qualifying matches, with the winners earning a spot at Battleground in the six-woman Ladder Match to crown the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion.
The changes in the production department come at a crucial time for WWE, as the company looks to revamp its creative approach and appeal to a wider audience. With Fitting and Fadem at the helm, fans can expect a new era of WWE production to unfold. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda Wrestling for full NXT coverage and all breaking WWE news.
