In an interview with Comicbook.com, Finn Wittrock shared his thoughts on the cancelled Green Lantern Max series where he was set to portray Guy Gardner. Despite the disappointment of the project’s cancellation, Wittrock remains hopeful for future comic book roles.
Wittrock expressed his dedication to the role, revealing that he immersed himself in Green Lantern comics for research. While he was disappointed by the project’s fate, he sees it as a learning experience and hopes to apply his newfound knowledge to future opportunities in the comic book realm.
However, with Nathan Fillion cast as Guy Gardner in the upcoming DC Universe reboot, it seems unlikely that Wittrock will step into the role anytime soon. Nevertheless, fans have been campaigning for Wittrock to play Nightwing, suggesting that the cancellation may have opened up other exciting possibilities for him.
The actor also discussed Guy Gardner’s iconic appearance, including the character’s signature red hair and bowl cut. Wittrock admitted he was prepared to fully commit to the role, even considering dyeing his hair for authenticity.
While it’s disappointing that the Green Lantern series didn’t come to fruition with Wittrock in the lead role, his passion for the character is evident. Perhaps fans will still get a glimpse of what could have been through a Halloween cosplay.
