Christina Applegate and her friend Jamie-Lynn Sigler spoke out about their shared experience of living with multiple sclerosis (MS) on “Good Morning America” aired on Wednesday.
Both actresses have MS, an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system. Applegate revealed that it was Selma Blair, her co-star from “The Sweetest Thing,” who urged her to see a doctor after Blair was diagnosed with MS in 2018.
Applegate admitted she initially brushed off Blair’s suggestion, thinking it was too unlikely for both of them to have the same disease. However, she credits Blair with potentially saving her from a worse outcome by pushing her to get checked.

Sigler praised Applegate’s courage and resilience, believing that sharing her story will inspire others. She sees Applegate entering a new, beautiful chapter of her life despite the challenges.
The first episode of “Messy” is set to release on March 19, offering listeners a view into the raw and authentic experiences of these two remarkable women.
