Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP), a former WWE United States Champion, has been relatively inactive in the ring over the past two years. However, he recently hinted at significant developments ahead of the 2024 Draft on Friday Night SmackDown.
MVP’s last in-ring appearance was almost two years ago when he teamed up with his client, Omos, against The Street Profits on the July 18, 2022 episode of Monday Night RAW.
This year, he has made only two on-screen appearances, both as a manager for The Nigerian Giant, escorting Omos at the 2024 Royal Rumble and The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on April 5, 2024, edition of SmackDown.
Taking to Instagram, MVP announced his presence for the April 26 episode of SmackDown in Cincinnati for the WWE Draft 2024. He also revealed his plans to head to Kansas City for the April 29 edition of Monday Night RAW to explore future opportunities.
“OK. Heading to Smackdown in Cincinnati for the draft. Then, on to KC for RAW. Let’s see what the future holds…,” he wrote.
MVP’s recent reunion with his former WWE faction during WrestleMania 40 weekend has fueled speculation about his next move. As a member of The Hurt Business alongside Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander, MVP enjoyed considerable success in 2020 before the group disbanded on the Road to WrestleMania 37.
Before WrestleMania XL, the quartet reunited for the first time in three years at the WaleMania stage in Philadelphia, hinting at a potential resurgence of The Hurt Business under Triple H’s regime.
The WWE Universe eagerly anticipates MVP’s next steps, wondering if he will transition from his managerial role to a return to in-ring competition, particularly concerning his partnership with Omos post-draft.
