The climax of Loki second season marked a significant moment for fans, feeling like the culmination of a full narrative arc for many.
Tom Hiddleston, the star of the series, also sensed this closure. Nevertheless, the possibility of a third season remains open, with Hiddleston himself not ruling it out entirely.
In a recent interview covered by Variety, Tom Hiddleston reflected on his journey portraying Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When asked about the potential for a third season, Hiddleston revealed that it’s a question he encounters frequently.

However, he admitted to having no definitive answer, emphasizing his genuine uncertainty about Loki’s future within the MCU.
Despite acknowledging that the second season could have served as a fitting climax, Hiddleston expressed satisfaction if it indeed marked the end of Loki’s story.
“I truthfully don’t know,” Hiddleston responded when queried about the possibility of a third season. “I am so proud of where we landed in Season 2. To go from this lost, broken soul in Asgard, and be given a second chance and learn so much about life that he actually gives himself to protect other people, has been such an honor.”
While Hiddleston remains cautious about the prospect of a return, his openness to the idea is evident. Ultimately, the decision lies with Disney and Marvel Studios regarding whether to pursue a third season.
Additionally, there’s speculation about the potential for a spinoff, possibly focusing on other characters from the series, as hinted by producers.
“We did treat this like a closing of the book,” producer Kevin Wright remarked on the Phase Zero podcast. “Season 1 [was] one chapter, Season 2 [was] another chapter. It felt right [to end here]. I will say this: I love this world, I love these characters. I would love to continue telling stories with Sylvie and the TVA, obviously. I would love to tell more Loki stories if that becomes a possibility. But more so, I would love to continue to work with this team that made these two seasons of this show.”
The future of Loki, whether in the form of a third season or a spinoff, remains uncertain. Meanwhile, both seasons of Loki are available for streaming on Disney+.
