Final Fantasy 14’s upcoming expansion, Dawntrail, is set to launch in full on July 2nd, 2024, with early access beginning on June 28th.
However, players and the development team alike will have one week less to prepare for the release due to the highly anticipated Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree.
During PAX East, producer/director Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida humorously mentioned that the team had initially aimed for an earlier early access launch but had to adjust due to the Elden Ring DLC’s release.
“We figured everyone would be interested in playing the Elden Ring DLC,”
Yoshida remarked, playfully holding up one finger.
“I’ll give you one week!”
He clarified that the adjusted release date wasn’t solely to indulge in the Elden Ring DLC before transitioning to Dawntrail, albeit he expressed his personal excitement for it.
Those who pre-order will receive exclusive in-game items, including Azeyma’s earrings and a wind-up Zidane minion. Additionally, Yoshi-P detailed the contents of the Collector’s Edition for eager fans.
Dawntrail follows the highly successful Endwalker expansion, which garnered immense popularity upon its release, leading to its temporary removal from sale.
The new expansion introduces returning characters and a vibrant tropical setting, evocative of South America.
