Destiny 2’s final season stretches out to be its lengthiest yet, but players won’t have to wait until The Final Shape expansion arrives in June for fresh content. Bungie, the developer, has officially unveiled “Into the Light,” set to launch on April 9 alongside Update 7.3.6. This update promises to introduce new narrative elements throughout April and May, setting the stage for the grand finale in the ongoing Light and Darkness saga.
While specific details remain under wraps, the key art for Into the Light hints at another intense confrontation with The Hive, possibly within the confines of the Midtown PvP map, situated within the Last City. Additionally, the update will bring further refinements to Destiny 2’s gameplay mechanics and introduce quality-of-life enhancements. Bungie plans to shed more light on these developments through three separate livestreams, scheduled to kick off next week on its official Twitch channel.
Viewers tuning into these livestreams stand to earn exclusive rewards. Watching for at least 30 minutes will unlock the “Those Held Dear” emblem, while two hours of total viewing time will grant access to the coveted “Echo Diamond” emblem.
Here’s the schedule for the upcoming live streams:
- Livestream 1: March 19, 10 AM PT
- Livestream 2: March 26, 10 AM PT
- Livestream 3: April 2, 10 AM PT
Following the conclusion of Season of the Wish, which saw Crow embark on a journey into the heart of the Traveler, Destiny 2’s landscape has been relatively tranquil. Currently, the Guardian Games are underway, with players vying to determine which class will emerge victorious this year. Notably, hoverboards have been introduced into the game, adding an extra layer of excitement.
For a quirky twist, Destiny 2 players can indulge in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire cosmetics, available for purchase. Given that Sony owns both Bungie and the Ghostbusters IP, this crossover collaboration seamlessly blends the two worlds. Among the offerings is an Ecto-1-themed makeover for players’ personal spacecraft, adding a dash of nostalgia to their intergalactic adventures.
