WWE fans recently got a glimpse into John Cena’s rankings of top female wrestlers, and the results are stirring up some intriguing discussions.
Cena, who’s been on hiatus from the WWE ring following his defeat to Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel in November, took a moment during an appearance on ESPN’s First Take to share his insights.
When co-host Christine Williamson broached the topic of Women’s History Month, Cena was prompted to list his top three female WWE Superstars, but he expanded it to a top five.
In response, Cena revealed,
“That’s a great question. I’m gonna change the monument, we’ll go top 5. Let’s see… I say Bayley, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, and Charlotte Flair. That’s my top 5.”
This revelation has sparked interest among fans, especially considering Cena’s esteemed career and his occasional forays into mixed tag team matches over the years. While he’s been absent from the ring to focus on acting, Cena’s legacy in WWE is undeniable.
Throughout his 25-year career, which encompasses stints in the indies, developmental territories, and WWE’s main roster, Cena has participated in a variety of matches. Among them, mixed tag team matches have seen him paired with various female wrestlers.
From 2002 to 2018, Cena engaged in a total of 11 mixed tag team matches. These bouts featured partnerships with wrestlers like Dawn Marie, Torrie Wilson, Maria, Vickie Guerrero, and Nikki Bella, among others.
Notable victories include a win alongside Becky Lynch over Andrade and Zelina Vega on SmackDown in December 2018.
While Cena’s recent focus has been on his burgeoning career in Hollywood, his opinions on the top female wrestlers in WWE offer an intriguing glimpse into his continued involvement with the wrestling community.
As fans eagerly await his potential return to the ring, discussions about his rankings and past matches continue to fuel excitement and debate within the WWE universe.
