Xbox has officially announced the PlayStation release dates for Sea of Thieves, the beloved pirate-themed live service game developed by the British studio Rare.
PlayStation 5 users will have the opportunity to wishlist the game starting tomorrow, February 22nd, in anticipation of its debut on Sony’s console slated for April 30th.
In a recent blog post from Microsoft, additional PlayStation release dates were unveiled, including Pentiment (available tomorrow, February 22nd) and Grounded (scheduled for April 16th). These dates coincide with those disclosed for the Nintendo Switch during the recent Nintendo Direct event.
Moreover, the blog post solidifies the leaked launch date for Hi-Fi Rush, mistakenly revealed by Bethesda earlier today, confirming its release on March 19th.
Both Pentiment and Grounded are set to launch on both PS4 and PS5 platforms, while Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves will be exclusively available on PS5.
To reassure Xbox fans who may be concerned about the expanded availability of these titles, Microsoft emphasizes that these four games are simply expanding their reach to include PlayStation, joining other popular franchises like Minecraft, Call of Duty, Overwatch, and Diablo that are already accessible across multiple platforms.
This strategic move towards multiplatform availability comes after Xbox cautiously outlined its future plans in a recent podcast, following earlier speculations regarding potential PlayStation launches for larger titles such as Starfield and Indiana Jones.
