With the countdown on Damian Priest’s Money in the Bank contract ticking away, the pressure mounts as he faces the decision of when to make his move.
In a recent discussion on the Gigantic Pop podcast, former WWE Superstar Matt Morgan weighed in on the timing of Priest’s potential cash-in at WrestleMania XL.
Despite Priest’s persistent pursuit of Seth “Freakin” Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship over the past year, setbacks including injury have hindered his attempts to claim the title.
As Rollins gears up to defend his championship against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania XL, speculation swirls about whether Priest will seize the opportunity to disrupt the match and stake his claim to the title.
According to Morgan, WWE would be making a critical error if Priest were to successfully cash in his Money in the Bank contract on McIntyre:
“I don’t think it’s happening here because of the fact that it’s going to be Seth vs. Drew McIntyre, and Drew McIntyre will win that title. No question about it in my mind, and it should happen that way. And I think WWE will f everything up if you have him cash in and then beat Drew for the championship. I think that’s stupid,”
Morgan expressed.
Morgan emphasized that Priest is not yet prepared for a world title reign:
“I’ll say, he’s (Damian Priest) not ready yet. He’s not there. He’s almost there. He’s as close to the finish line as you can get. But he’s not there yet.”

Furthermore, Morgan suggested that Priest would be better suited as a secondary champion for the time being:
“But, he is that talented. He is that good. He’s just not there yet to championship level, unless the fluke type of championship, in which he wins it and somebody beats him. No, you don’t want that for him. He’s fought so hard to get here.”
While the outcome of Priest’s cash-in remains uncertain, fans can expect to see him in action at WrestleMania XL as he and Balor defend their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles in a six-pack ladder match at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
