In the realm of women’s wrestling within the WWE, Rhea Ripley stands out as one of the brightest stars of recent times.
Maxxine Dupri, who recently squared off against Mami in a singles match, offered insights into her learning experience from the Women’s World Champion.
Despite being relatively new to the pro wrestling scene, Dupri has shown gradual improvement inside the squared circle since her debut in July 2023.
As a member of the Alpha Academy, she acknowledges that she’s still a rookie with a lengthy journey ahead in the WWE, and sharing the ring with Rhea Ripley was undeniably a significant milestone for her.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet of Insight, Dupri confessed that the prospect of facing Rhea Ripley made her apprehensive.
She praised The Nightmare’s veteran presence and admired how composed Ripley remained throughout their match. Dupri expressed her desire to emulate Ripley’s confidence in the ring, considering it a valuable attribute to possess.
“Yeah, I think a lot of things. One for me is the timing of that match. I was so nervous; I think I was just a little scatterbrained. I think she is so calm, cool, and collected, and that’s the coolest thing about her. That’s some energy I want to take and run with. She knows who she is. She knows what she is doing. There is not an ounce of worry or anything on her face, and I think that’s so cool. That’s something I would love to steal from her and carry with me, just a little bit of that confidence.” [From 48:25 to 48:58]
Maxxine Dupri expresses gratitude to WWE for providing her with numerous opportunities.
Despite lacking prior wrestling experience, she’s honing her skills on live WWE TV, a challenging endeavor that hasn’t deterred her from pursuing her aspirations.
“[You’ve been given a lot of big opportunities?] yeah, I have. I’m very grateful. I feel like I’ve just been so blessed that they’ve [WWE] continued to give me opportunities to grow and learn on TV. [From 47:23 to 47:34]
Acknowledging her luck in having already competed against a Women’s Champion, the 26-year-old RAW star understands the competitive nature of the roster, where securing TV time, especially in prominent matches, is no small feat.
Although Maxxine Dupri may still be relatively inexperienced in the WWE ring, her encounters with top talents like Rhea Ripley are catalyzing her rapid improvement.
