WWE is gearing up for their next premium live event (PLE), slated to take place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia soon. This marks the first PLE of 2024 to be held in the country.
Back in 2018, WWE entered a significant 10-year partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport to organize pay-per-view events there.
This collaboration expanded in 2019, with a new deal involving the Saudi General Sports Authority, allowing WWE to host two large-scale events per year until 2027.
According to a recent report from PWInsider, WWE is eyeing mid-to-late Spring 2024 for their return to Saudi Arabia. Tentatively, the next Saudi premium live event is scheduled for late May.
The location, whether it will be in Riyadh or Jeddah, is yet to be confirmed. Additionally, details about the event theme remain undisclosed, though possibilities include Night of Champions, Super ShowDown, or a fresh gimmick tailored for the Kingdom.
Notably, the main roster PLE scheduled for May 2024 is Backlash. This historic event is set to unfold on Saturday, May 4, at the LDLC Arena in Décines-Charpieu, France.
Looking ahead, WWE’s global agenda for 2024 includes several international shows. Alongside France, WWE has plans for events in Germany and has recently held Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia.
The updated WWE premium live event schedule for 2024 includes:
– April 6: NXT Stand & Deliver – Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia
– April 6 & 7: WrestleMania 40, Night 1 and Night 2 – Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia
– May 4: Backlash France – LDLC Arena, Décines-Charpieu, France
– May 26: NXT Battleground – Enmarket Arena, Savannah, GA
– July 6: Money In the Bank – Scotiabank Arena, Toronto
– July 7: NXT Heatwave – Scotiabank Arena, Toronto
– August 31: Bash In Berlin – Mercedes-Benz Arena, Berlin
The WWE calendar is subject to updates, and major events like SummerSlam and Survivor Series are yet to be officially confirmed.
