The road to WWE WrestleMania is taking unexpected turns this year with the entrance of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson into the fray.
In the latest UnSKripted episode, Bill Apter weighed in on rumors suggesting that The Rock might be orchestrating a move to sideline Triple H from WWE, debunking such speculations.
The buzz began when The Rock was appointed to the TKO Board of Directors a few weeks back, coinciding with his insertion into the world title picture.
Currently, The Rock has adopted a villainous persona and appears to be aligning himself with Roman Reigns, while Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins engage in a feud against the Samoans. As tensions rise, a brewing conflict within WWE seems imminent, with Triple H asserting his creative control.
Speculation has swirled that Dwayne Johnson may be gradually maneuvering to place his associates in key positions within WWE. Brian Gewirtz’s involvement in storyline planning for WrestleMania has fueled such rumors. However, Bill Apter expressed skepticism regarding claims that The Rock aims to sideline Triple H.
Apter emphasized the importance of Triple H to WWE, suggesting that The Rock likely recognizes his former on-screen rival’s significance and competence for the job.
Addressing the rumors, Apter remarked,
“The Vince McMahon, the whole domino effect and everything. Right now, the rumor everyone is trying to make like it’s really happening is that [The Rock]… this whole thing with him being on the board of directors, storyline or not the storyline; eventually, he wants to bring his own writers in, Brian Gewirtz and other people and they were going to try and inch Triple H out of his position. I don’t buy any of this. But you’ve heard the rumors, I assume. correct?”
Despite their past on-screen rivalry, Triple H and The Rock are collaborating to craft one of WWE’s most unique WrestleMania storylines, underscoring the dynamic nature of the wrestling world.
