The upcoming WWE Draft 2024 promises to shake things up post-WrestleMania XL, with reports indicating appearances by several Hall of Famers.
An annual tradition, the WWE Draft injects excitement into the weekly programming, providing a fresh start for all brands following WrestleMania. According to PWInsider Elite, Hall of Famers Teddy Long, JBL, and Alundra Blayze are slated to make appearances during this year’s draft.
Last year’s draft saw numerous legends and veterans participating in announcing picks for each brand, and it’s expected that more will join in for the two-night event this time around.
In addition to the star-studded appearances, WWE has made significant changes to the draft rules. Previously, Monday Night RAW received more picks due to its three-hour format.
However, efforts have been made to balance the selection process, with champions now being protected from the draft. This rule, reinstated after a hiatus, excludes the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions due to their brand fluidity.
Champions such as Damian Priest, Becky Lynch, Sami Zayn, and Awesome Truth from RAW, and Cody Rhodes, Bayley, Logan Paul, and A-Town Down Under from SmackDown, are all exempt from the draft, solidifying their positions on their respective brands.
Moreover, the upcoming draft is expected to feature significant involvement from NXT stars. Fans eagerly await the outcome of the two-night event, anticipating which superstars will switch brands and find new homes within the WWE promotion.
