Wrestling veteran Matt Morgan has warned the WWE that Cody Rhodes’ career hinges on his ability to defeat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL.
Cody Rhodes earned a world title shot at this year’s Show of Shows by winning the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match. Despite initially suggesting he wouldn’t challenge Reigns, Rhodes later announced at the WrestleMania XL Kickoff event that he would go after The Tribal Chief’s Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
In a recent episode of his Gigantic Pop podcast, Matt Morgan expressed his belief that Cody Rhodes would be finished if he failed to capture the title at WrestleMania XL, especially given that it would be his second attempt to dethrone Reigns after a previous loss at WrestleMania 39.
“No, he can’t come back from it either, I’ll argue. If he doesn’t win the title, they’re done, he’s done,” warned Morgan.
Morgan also criticized WWE’s creative decision at the WrestleMania XL Kickoff event, where The Rock slapped Cody Rhodes during a confrontation.
According to Morgan, the booking made Rhodes look weak since he did not retaliate against The Rock.
