Engaging in Plundering is one of the most lucrative methods to amass resources, enhance your Infamy Rank, and accrue XP within the realm of Skull and Bones. This feature presents you with the opportunity to raid entire settlements, conquer guard towers, and vanquish numerous ships, all in pursuit of valuable plunder.
However, comprehending the intricacies of the Plundering system in Skull and Bones may seem daunting at first glance. Initially, you must identify settlements on the map that are inaccessible for docking. Notably, prominent locations such as Sainte-Anne or the Sacred Tree are exempt from plundering.
Instead, target settlements devoid of the fast travel icon or those fortified by guard towers. For instance, if you spot your ship near two guard towers adjacent to a small settlement, you’ve likely found a suitable target.
Upon approaching such a settlement, your screen will present two options: “Interact” and “Plunder.” Opting to interact opens a menu enabling trade with the settlement or the completion of contracts and quests.
Conversely, selecting Plunder initiates a brief cutscene depicting your crew disembarking from the ship, marking the onset of combat with the settlement and nearby guard towers.
At the top of your screen, instructions prompt you to “Kill all enemies,” accompanied by icons representing towers and ships. A red hue accompanied by a numerical indicator signals the presence of nearby threats that must be neutralized.
For example, a red ship icon with a “1” indicates a solitary ship requiring elimination through sinking or boarding. Similarly, a red tower icon necessitates the depletion of the HP of nearby guard towers or the settlement itself.
Once all required adversaries are vanquished, a golden treasure chest icon materializes on your HUD, signifying the location of your rewards.
Four treasure chest icons displayed atop your screen denote your progress in the Plunder. To successfully conclude the Plunder, you must loot all four treasure chests, each corresponding to a stage of enemy ships or towers.
Progressing through each stage introduces new adversaries, necessitating repeated victories to advance. Following the completion of each stage, another treasure chest emerges in the water for looting.
Upon looting the final chest, a concluding cutscene unfolds as your crew reunites aboard the ship, accompanied by a notification affirming “Plunder Completed.” Subsequently, there exists a cooldown period before you can revisit and plunder the same location.
Plundering embodies a high-risk, high-reward endeavor in Skull and Bones. While it offers the potential for substantial loot acquisition, it also entails confronting multiple adversaries simultaneously, posing a considerable threat to your ship.
For novice plunderers, it’s advisable to commence in lower-level areas of the map, gradually progressing to higher tiers following enhancements to your ship’s armor and weaponry.
