As WWE’s top contender for the Undisputed Championship, AJ Styles is set to face Cody Rhodes tonight at Backlash France.
Ahead of this highly anticipated match, The Phenomenal One has addressed his future in the Stamford-based promotion and quashed rumors of a potential departure.
In an interview with Solo Wrestling, Styles acknowledged the possibility of venturing outside WWE, citing Spain as an example.
However, he emphasized that there is no need to leave the company to achieve his goals elsewhere, as WWE itself offers opportunities for international expansion.
“I mean, working for the biggest wrestling company in the world, bar none, doesn’t get bigger than this,” Styles stated confidently. “I’m at the tip of the iceberg. Like, this is everything. This is where you wanna be. This is where I wanna be.”
This sentiment echoes his previous statement that he has no intention of leaving WWE until retirement.
When asked about his plans to hang up his boots, Styles revealed that he feels “pretty good” in the current moment and has no desire to reach a point where he becomes perceived as over-the-hill.
“A finish line? Not that I’m willing to share, but there’s definitely a finish line somewhere in the future. Listen, I enjoy this. I really do,” Styles said. “I don’t want to get to a point where… you’re going, ‘Ugh, oh, man, maybe it’s time for him to get out!’ I don’t want to get to that point.”
